FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I submit my work?
Send them to youngwritersph@gmail.com as an attached file or simply a copy-pasted message. Include your work's cover in the message.

What kind of work do you accept?
We accept literary work of any form with the maximum amount of 5000 words. It could either be poetry or prose with the following exclusions:

  • Chapter stories
  • FanFiction (including Real Person Fiction)
  • Any discriminatory or marginalizing material on any race, sex, sexual orientation and the like.

Will all submissions be featured?
We cannot guarantee that all submissions will be featured on the site.

Will I be notified once my work has been published?
We will only post that there's a new blog post but we will not personally notify you.

Can I post my work on my personal blog/other sites/publications?
Yes, you can. But when you want to publish it in a magazine or any other media, you must first inform them (the people working for the magazine) that you have submitted it to Young Writers Philippines.

How do I become a member of Young Writers Philippines?
As long as you're a young writer from the Philippines, then you're a member. (Liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter will help, too!)

By "young", what exactly do you mean?
We envision a group of men and women aged 10 to 25.

Will there be a gathering for Young Writers Philippines?
We would love to have a gathering. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to organize one. We do promise that we will continue to look for ways for Young Writers Philippines to hold this kind of event.

How do I become a Young Writers Philippines officer?
As of now, we are not looking for more officers. In the future, when there are more members and more things to deal with, we will surely inform you if we are looking for officers. There will be a process to undergo before you can become an officer.

How does Young Writers Philippines earn funds?
We don't. We are still looking for ways to fund this "community". Selling merchandise (such as YWPH rubber bracelets, notebooks, and fans) has been considered. We are also thinking of having a book sale.
